Great American Shootout – Georgetown, TX Championship Final
Texas D-1 Ambassadors – Chip 68 Dallas Heroes (TX) 66 OT
Facing the Heroes for the 4th time in 3 days, these teams were getting to know each other all too well, as it took Overtime to secure a very physical, hard fought 2-point victory. Demetrius Smith led the way again with 24 pts and 8 rebs, matching the physical play of the Heroes’ large-body Big man (#32). #32 put several of our guys on the floor, including “checking” Adam Whitlock into the bench chairs resulting in a deep gash just below his elbow that required stitches, as well as a scar to remember about 6” down his arm. In spite of the hard physical play, this was a very entertaining game that required an extra overtime session to declare the CHAMPION.
